A few days ago, I came across a story that said soon-to-be-released book Pride & Prejudice & Zombies will be getting the movie treatment. Pride & Prejudice & Zombies is a book that keeps 85% of the text of the original Jane Austen snore-fest, and adds in chapters featuring hordes of zombies and scenes revealing Mr D'Arcy's ninja prowess.

Then, this morning, I read of another new film in the works - Pride and Predator. This one is about an alien UFO that crash lands in Georgian England, and seems to be basically as the title describes. Weirdly, it's also being produced by Elton John and David Furnish.

What classic chick-literature would you like to see given the sci-fi/horror treatment?

Pride & Prejudice & Zombies sounds like it could be the greatest movie ever made. The perfect date movie. A chickflick to keep the wimmin happy and motherfudging zombies!

"Jane Eyre: The Reckoning" starring Arnold Schwarzreneggar and some no-name female actress.

First part of the book remains the same, abused orphan, shipped off to a crappy boarding school. But instead of her going to Rochester mansion, Arnold comes as John Matrix (Commando style). He makes Jane Eyre become an informant for him.

Jane Eyre gets discovered as being the insider, and is subsequently taken off to be killed, enter John Matrix armed to teeth, kills one of the sidekicks with the snappy one liner: "Orphan This."

    The rest writes itself. :D

Bill Bailey used to do a part of his routine about combining Jane Austen and Tom Clancy

"Emma I present you with the gift of the Uzi, with its light weight and rapid rate of fire, it is indeed the ultimate in small weapons"

"Oh Mr Darcy, You Da Man"

Something along those lines, thought it was a great idea

But Zombies, that is just great :D
