Tens of millions in private loans to cover shady dealings of "his" bank. Private loans guaranteed by "his" bank.

    WTF?

If you can't / won't pay your TV licence they send you to prison. How come this guy is still walking the streets?

Where is the CAB raiding his properties, where is the money?

Whats going to happen is that there'll be another tribunal that will last for about 10 years and will cost the taxpayer about 400 million in legal fees. Of course not much will come out of it.

Think about the the next time you are squirming for a 10 k car loan.

And what happens then- Finna Fail come in bailing out the bank.

And what happpens then- people go and vote for Finna Fail.

If you want to stop the spread of corruption- stop voting for curropt little feckers like Flynn, and Bertie the accountant with no bank account even if he is a "nice wee fella".

And will again, just like the 80's. Our only hope is that cowan hasn't the wit or charm to hornswoggle the dopey bastards like CJ or Bertie did.

The way i see it, is that culchieland is overrepresented in the dail, while urbanites are under represented, we need to address this before we'll ever get those bastids out.

They should put that ar$ehole Fitzpatrick in the stocks and let the public pelt him with rotten tomatoes and rotten vegetables and then allow people give a kick up the ass.

Feckin sick to death of the fat-cat bankers getting away with this. They must be sucking serious FF co*k

Its quite simple. He knows too much, who is also involved, how high up it goes and is pals with the government.

    ...so he walks!

Meanwhile you and I still get the threat of jail while he gets paid off in the hundreds of thousands.

Thats what we get for the government we elected.
Remember that at the next elections - local, national and European!

So is Yore Sister the new Yore Ma?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Eh, Bertie was voted in (in huge numbers) by the enlightened urbanites.

    stupid question

Could not you or I (or Senator Ross for that matter) walk down to the next copshop with the latest news printouts and demand that that man be arrested under suspiscion of fraud?

Because, if it looks like fraud, smells like fraud and tastes like fraud it is highly likely to be fraud and FitzPatrick likely to do a runner and just disappear to whatever off-shore island where his money already is.

The whole thing stinks to the high heavens. It's an awful inditement of the people of the country that this is being tolerated. That's all I've to say on the matter, we tolerate it, so it happens.

That pretty much sums it up. Although the icing on the cake would be if they put on a bit of a show for the plebs, like a nice little investigation/tribunal which awards a few more millions to some other cronies in the legal profession. It's what you call a win-win situation....haha

Apparently Fitzpatrick has been sentenced to ten years. Check the Anglo Irish Bank page on wikipedia! Just pretend that we live in a country with morals and fairness for a few minutes, until someone on wiki brings us back to the grim reality that this will never happen.
