I would go Astra but I lack lights and it will probably be dark by the time I'm heading back.

    Good luck tho!

I was up there on Sunday night (between Glencree and the viewing point) and there was still thick snow on the road. By thick I mean 4 feet or so in places, with very thin tracks through. It was a bit of a surprise in the dark as the Wicklow Gap was clear on Saturday.

Just went for a spin up the sally gap - road was fine all the way to the crossroads from the roundwood/luggala side (a couple of shaded sections still had some snow at the side and in the middle of the road, but it's easily passable).

Once I got to the crossroads I was planning on taking a right and coming back through Glencree but about 100m after the turn the road is impassable - i'd say there's at least a foot of snow at the beginning of it.

Ended up turning around and coming back through kilmac
