    Isn’t it enough…?




    The summer sun shines, swathing plants below.
    Now wrapped in warmth, they tilt their heads, astir,
    So we may see the shimmering plateau,
    Of evolution’s picturesque frontier.
    The vibrant colours, soothing to the eye,
    The blithesome cheeps that beam from branch and brush,
    A flower’s scent, the buzz as bees go by,
    This natural world does prompt the heart to rush.
    The freshness filters through us, nose to lung,
    And we are woven, wound into this world;
    A garden, lush and green, whose gates are flung
    Wide open to a mind now quite unfurled.
    And yet, some senseless souls still seek to find
    The faeries science seems to leave behind.
