Must say that is a Savage offer, i paid 25 euro for Die hard 3 alone a few months back as the only place it was released was in AUS and its not region free.

Is that one region free ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,659 ✭✭✭PowerHouseDan

We use the Same Region Code as AUS Region B.

Apparently sanity are owned by the company who took over HMV in Australia.

    Found this on their website........

"In October 2005 Brazin acquired the Australian operations of HMV. As part of this acquisition the HMV.com.au web site is to be closed and redirected to the Brazin retail chain's web site, Sanity.com.au.

The Sanity.com.au site has been running under the auspice of the HMV Australia Internet team since April 2006. This means that HMV.com.au customers can expect to enjoy the benefits of the HMV.com.au site at Sanity.com.au."

I feel less concerned now about ordering. Could be a site to watch. Thanks OP

Most of the other Blu-rays are fairly expensive on that site,But that Die Hard Boxset is good Value specially with Die Hard 3 as it was never released in Europe.

The only problem is the Australian releases have a HUGE certificate banner running across the bottom of the cover

As long as its not running across the bottom of the screen then I do not mind. Covers go in the recycle bin as I keep all disks in a big case logic carrier:D

    Doesn't say.

Here is a link to the original sleeve cover, but doesn't mention whether it's theatrical or unrated, as far as I can see.

Is the only difference between the theatrical and unrated versions "Yippee Kai Yay Mother****er"?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,489 ✭✭✭iMax

No, the unrated is very much morelike a real die hard. More adult, more language (inc ykymf), more violent, more blood. much better movie IMHO

Does he still surf down an exploding highway on a fighter jet?

Does he still surf down an exploding highway on a fighter jet?

    Only in 1, 2, 3 & 4.

    Yippee-ki-yay mother trucker!

I erm... I went to get the popcorn.... I don't know... possibly.

Actually the only scene I think doesn't work in the unrated version is the scene where he blows up a helicoptor with a car (not a spoiler - it's in the trailer). The change the dialogue & it's just not as witty.

Australia is region B, same as here, so they should work.

I'm still very tempted but I have 1 & 2 already on BD & I have the ultimate 1,2,3 on DVD & 4 on DVD seperate... I'd need to offload them first.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,087 ✭✭✭paddydriver

    YOU DONT?????

Absolutely... hundreds or CD's and DVD's take a lot of shelf space! this way I get to have a browse through them all without having to pull out boxes. Less dusting too;) Plsu with two young kiddies tearing up the place - it would be chaos with that many case around!

I know guys that would cringe to the thought of someone chucking the cases. They seem to enjoy the packaging as much or more then the actual movie/tv show.
I'm not all that bothered really.

I couldn't imagine dumping the casses or slicks. I buy stuff because I want the whole package, anything less & I may as well download it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,014 ✭✭✭Soarer

    Mine arrived just there! :D
    Had forgotten all about it.

    Die Hard 2, 3, & 4 all have DTS-MA too!

Thanks once again to the OP!

Mine arrived this morning as well. Excellent value.

I will be keeping an eye on sanity's website for further bargains.

Can anyone confirm if this will play on the ps3 ?

Australia is region 4 ,as is a lot of stuff on this site.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,014 ✭✭✭Soarer

Australia is Region 4 for DVD's. These are Blurays, and Australia is the same as Europe for these.

    Ergo...Vis A Vis...Concordently...they'll work on the PS3.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,951 ✭✭✭fdevine

I will confirm later tonight if there are any PS3 related issues.
