Decided to make the plunge and shoot a gig with my D1....granted I had my D3 with me as well and shot with that too for redundancy. I just wanted to prove to myself that it wasn't the "Your camera that takes great pictures!" that I so often hear from people when I take photos with my D3.
All either shot at 400 or pushing it at 800 ISO on a 2.74MP 10+ year old DSLR....

Thanks Keith...its only really the 2nd time I've gotten to use the cam properly. It's hard work....you should see how long it takes to see a preivew of a RAW file on the LCD...I won't even mention the wowful custom menu system!

Terrific stuff. 3rd one is really sweet.

Sure even the difference between the 1dmk2n and the 1dmk3 is huge, two button presses to get anything done is such a pain.

Keith, the D1 has about a 10 sec delay when writing to the card.....and then a 15 sec delay to preview the 4Mb image...and you CAN'T shoot while its writing on single shot mode which is so frustrating!...I love it though because I'm so stubborn!
Thanks Covey, I was really doubtful about this purchase until tonight.
I want Fajita's Kodak digi paperweight thing next!

I read somewhere recently that the biggest compliment a photographer can get from a 'layperson' is "Wow, great picture, you must have a really good camera" !

Nice set by the way, just goes to show what can be done. I'm sure people back in the day had to make do with this sort of technology when it was the cutting edge!
