    Hi,
I've done a search on here, but I have not found anything on this.
I have XP on my laptop, hit Start, select turn off... but nothing happens???

I downloaded Secunia PSI set up and it found 3 areas that needed attention. It allowed 2 of these areas to update but still has not updated Adobe Flash Player 9.x ( ActiveX Control )

This is the onlyu thing I can think of that might be causing this issue. Apart
from that, my Toshiba lappie is running sweet!

Have faced this problem before on PCs and laptops. For me the solution was to upgrade the video card drivers, once I did this the machines displayed the shutdown dialog instantly. Hope this works for you

    Thank you IT-Guy,
I have managed to shut it down. As regards upgrading video drivers, I wouldn't know where to start! But thank you for taking the timeto help.

    Regards,
