Hav'nt seen magazine mentioned here so i thought they deserved a thread...argueably the first post punk band...but definitely one of the most influential bands on modern alt and indie...still sounding fresh and modern now...

i saw them last thursday do their first reunion gig in 25 years in the london forum and it was mindblowing...all original lineup except for the late John Mcgeogh but the guy from apollo 440 did a sterling job filling in....

anyone else a fan?....if you are not you really should be:)....

The Light pours out of me...

Great band. way ahead of their time and very influential.
"Song from under the floorboards" is a classic.
Would love to see them live.

I saw them last night in Glasgow. They were brilliant, really loud :). Howard had on slippers, three quater lengths and a pink shirt and blazer!

They've been mentioned here before by me - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055459654&highlight=magazine

No one was interested of course.

Great band, Real Life is amazing as is Secondhand Daylight. John McGeoch was such a fantastic player.

They weren't indie and post punk/new wave I find is an aborhent tagline.
    Fantastic band though.

Btw, last night's gig was recorded with a professional video camera at the mixing desk so fingers crossed for a DVD

    Sounds like a good gig.

Pity they didn't make it over here.

DVD would be great as well.

Correct Use of Soap is one of my favourite albums. Glad they're coming back for a victory lap.

Them unison bends in Shot by Both Sides caused my heart to beat so fast! Also brought a wry tear to my eye :)
Howard made a touching little dedication to John McGeoch, the crowd exploded with applause.

. Mcgeogh was such an innovative guitar player...i love his stuff on the siouxsie albums....way ahead of his time...yea i saw an interview with john frucianti from the red hot chili peppers a while back...he said mcgeogh and hendrix were some of his biggest influences....

+1 on "correct use of soap" amazing album....it helped me control my spiralling misanthropy lol :)

He also played with PiL from 1986 until their end around 1992
