Im thinking of upgrading to this and was wondering do these boxes take the coax cable or is it a digital cable, I was wondering because my mate recons they can be dodgy, so if it takes the coax at least if it acts up u can just plug the coax into the tv and get the usual channels while its acting up.
    thanks Phil

Not too sure what your asking but if it will you be still able to get the analogue channels if you upgrade to the digital + service the answer is yes. The signal loops in and out of the box into your tv(kinda like a splitter) so you shouldn't have to plug the coax out of the back of the box at at any time to receive analogue. The signal for analogue and digital come down the one cable but to get digital you need a digital decoder.

Coax (Coaxial) cable just refers to the actual type of cable (wire) used to carry the signal. Analogue and digital cable are carried over the same cable. There's no new wiring required.

The UPC Digital+ Box (DVR) plugs straight into your cable socket, the same as your TV does. You just connect it up with a SCART cable to your TV
