Try MakeUpForever, I got a sample from them, I think the shade was called 'Linen', so so perfect for my very pale skin! :) I can't wait to buy it in full size when I'm next in town.

Also I find the shade 'porcelain' in most foundation brands is quite dark. Look more for 'ivory' If i your pale

I used to wear Bobbi Brown's Porcelain and found it lovely.

I wear Bobbi Browns porcelain and it's great. They also have a lighter shade called alabaster.

I have very pale skin (when I haven't got fake tan on) and I use Shell from Estee Lauder Double Wear.

Nicola from girls aloud has a range thats aimed at girls with skin similar to hers. Don't know how good it is though.

I have maybelline mouse and more importantly, the powder. Their palest one is extremely pale, it's perfect.

I use Laura Mercier's tinted moisturiser in 'porcelain' and Clinique's supermoisture in 'Linen'. Both great for very pale ladies! Lovely glowy, natural look with both and most importantly, they don't look orange the way darker shades look on my skin.

i found the palest maybelline mousse was too dark for me, using loreal infallible in 15 porcelain now

it's a little on the dark side for me also but the powder is definitely way paler

Another fan of Bobbi Brown. I've really pale Scandinavian skin and find it to be perfect. The girl at the counter in BTs picked the perfect shade for me the last time I went in. Going back tomorrow to buy another bottle.

If you want something that's not too expensive, try Max Factor Lasting Performance in Fair.

Just to let you all know I am the palest of the pale! Almost white with a little patchy pink discolouration on my cheeks and prone to whiteheads and the occasional awful spot. I like a medium coverage foundation, on the lighter side of medium :P I also like tinted moisturiser, especially in the summer months. And I went foundation shopping today! :D
First I tried Dior in Nude 101, their lightest shade. It's very lightweight and 42% water! Put me off a bit as its 43 euro! That's probably silly though as I don't know the percentage of water in other foundations. It was a very light formula though. Was impressed with it all the same.
I also tried MakeupForever's Porcelain, also their lightest shade. It isn't as light as the Dior but it gave better coverage and an amazingly flawless look, I didn't even need concealer!! That one's 29.50 but the bottle is smaller, at 30ml.
I also swatched Mac Studio Fix Fluid in NC15(lightest) on my hand, think thats around 30 again? Not sure sorry. The formula was much too thick and the shade was still too dark for me.
Also swatched the new Bobbi Brown Skin foundation(forgot to check price) and a Laura Mercier foundation(48 euro!) both in the lightest shades on my hand too. Bobbi Brown one was also lovely as was the Laura Mercier. I'd like to try both of those on my face at some stage.
The girl at the Laura Mericer was a complete snob, I was very unimpressed at the customer service at a supposedly high end cosmetics counter. Put me off purchasing tbh.
I ended up going for the MakeupForever, but I can see myself buying the Dior sometime also, and maybe using it for lighter coverage days. I hope this was helpful to people :)

Where can you get makeup forever? A friend did my makeup at the weekend, a trial run for a special do, and she used Bare Essentials A14 (?)..stuff was brilliant! I was amazing as even though I used Mac's lightest shade and the lightest shaded in most mainstream brand foundation, I can still look "tinted"..

I'm very, very pale too, and find some of these suggestions very helpful, might go check out the makeup forever one tomorrow!

Ordered leichner foundation in porcelain on ebay the other day (the makeup used by actors) but it wasn't pale enough by a long shot.

Last year used emporio armani luminous foundation (from BT) in the lightest shade and found it lovely on my skin and provides great coverage. Was v happy with it, but the perfectionist in me seeks the absolute perfect shade!

Before that used MAC photo finish (i think) in NC15. Again, nice and pale, however a bit heavy for daytime wear.

I've also tried the Dainty Doll foundation (Nicola Roberts one) in porcelain, the colour is perfect, however i'm not the biggest fan of mousse foundation, it dried out my skin a bit. The concealer is great though. You can get them on www.asos.com

I got it in their store on Winthrop St. in Cork, but there are a few other locations it can be found luckily :)

Just went into BT in Cork at lunchtime to get some 8 hour lip balm for my mam, and the girl at the Elizabeth Arden counter offered me a free makeover, so i said why not?

She was promoting their new mineral makeup and I joked "will you have one pale enough for me?" and she suggested their palest shade "1".

Anyway, she did the makeover and sure enough, not pale enough, so now my head doesn't match my head, lol. However if you're not ghostly white like myself, the coverage is lovely. If it were the right colour i would have totally gotten it, and they have a great promotion at the moment too when you buy the foundation so kinda savage i can't take it up :(

Haven't ventured into Makeup Forever yet though, there was no-one in there so didnt want to be pounced on!

My newi(sh) GOSH exceptionalwear foundation is the perfect shade(I could go slightly paler but I don't think its even necessary), result!! :D

Makeup Forever is next to McDonalds on Winthrop Street in Cork, the girls are v nice and will give you a sample with no pressure to buy.

Happy with the shade N15 (the lightest), great colour and coverage.

Also, got Bare Minerals "Fair" kit in New York recently, and the colour is light enough for me, so delighted (for now!)

I'm holding out for the launch of Illamasqua in BT this weekend. They have pretty much white foundations!

    http://www.illamasqua.com/store/category/face/light_liquid_foundation/

    Can't flippin' wait!

    That's happening this week?

Pleeeeease please please let them open in Cork

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 6,817 ✭✭✭jenizzle

On Saturday :D They're opening in Belfast pretty soon too if they haven't done so already. I'm gonna have a look at everything on Sat, then head up to Belfast (have to go up anyway) or order online cos I'm assuming it'll be overpriced here! According to the site, they've no plans to open in Cork yet, but ye never know. It'd make sense as the Irish have the palest of the pale skin and they seem to cater to that.

How much is the Make Up forever one? I would like to give it a try!

I like good coverage as although I have very pale skin I also have quite an uneven skintone (lots of red bits). I tend to find Tinted Moisturiser to light in coverage.
