I don't get it - do you reckon that is particularly cheap?

A new 335i coupe lists from about €70k plus extras, so €40k for a 3 year old seems about right? The vast majority of medium and large mainstream cars lose about half their value in 3 years time

I think it may be the fact that Des Cullen is selling one, combined with the price.

    not really cheap at all.

I was bidding on a 2008 335ci with 6k miles in the auctions for about 4 weeks ago. Went for €40500 in the end.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,309 ✭✭✭VolvoMan

Well I thought it looked cheap. Less than a year ago they were easily making mid-fifties at least.

    My apologies if I wasted everyone's time!:o

What would be interesting is to know the actual selling price if it was up for 40k. At that price thats 3.50 a mile depreciation!

Here new they are not really that much cheaper than the 335i here when you factor in spec differences such as xenons ect.. that come standard on the 335i, leaving out the fact that I think it looks awful IMO their prices in the UK have dropped like a stone, so I suppose they could be a good buy.

Another thing is the fact that while some people think it is a light little car, it weights only 40kg less than the 335i

the person selling "it becuase they lost their job" is actually the dealer Blanchardstown 4x4. Ring them and tell them you have the cash and you'll take it tomorrow, ohhhh let me guess that car is gone, but we do have one here that you might be interested in sir, it is rather a lot dearer though.

I never have the luxury of picking the colour by the time I'm buying and I don't care. As long as the car isn't white :D

Surely they're not €150k new? Isn't the coupe only around the 100k mark?

According to www.bmw.ie the base model is €126,580 and this model is a convertible not a coupe, the coupe starts at €115,730. The alloys alone on that M3 cost an extra €2,800, the extended leather seats €1,660 add on a few more extras like automatic transmission, sat nav, heated seats and an upgraded stereo and so on and your well past €150k.

Wow. 150k on a convertable with a few extras, when the better coupe is available from 115k. Even if I won the lotto, no one could convince me to p!ss away 35k on a slightly less good car. You'd pick up a decent Caterham for that kind of change!

I'd hate to have to spend 125K and then buy extra's on top of that lol!
