Wheel problem - need help.

    Hey all,

ok so I'll admit I am not a car buff, and just to ensure I don't get completely ripped off when I go to the garage this week I need a bit of help...

I have noticed over the last number of weeks that when I am driving on "smooth" roads at crusing speed (i.e Motorway) that there seems to be a "bob" in the car (front left wheel), so much so that it feels like I have a flat tyre and had to stop to check if this was the case.

Now, it is defo not tyre pressure, as I checked this and it is normal.

I am thinking perhaps a tyre bulge but there is nothing obvious on the tyre, or inbalance either.

Has anyone ever experienced this before? Again - apologies if the answer is obvious

    thanks in advance.

Could be a number of things. Suspension issue, or tracking?

You would be hard pushed to feel a tyre bulge through the steering, but you could see one visually. Rotate the wheel, and look both on the outside and inside of the tyre. "Feel" the sidewalls.

    Probably a buckled alloy?

You may have lost a weight off your wheel and may need to get it balanced?

Start by having them balanced. It won't cost much - around €20 or so and any half decent tyre fitting shop can do it properly. It's the probably the most common cause of wheel vibrations.
