Marathon Novice - Rest week?

Guys, looking for some advice here. I am running my first marathon in Paris in April. I have been training consistently (using Hal Higdon's training schedule) for the past 3 months or so. I am only 7 weeks away now, and did a 16 Mile run last week. I have been very disciplined with the runs, and keep my mileage up. Over the past few days however, I have felt very tired, more so than usual. Just wondering, how much would a few days off from running set me back? Just feel I could do with a few nights rest.

Any other advice for a first-timer is more than welcome. As for my current pace, i'm averaging about 8'40 per mile at the moment. Doing about 30 Miles a week.

It's much better to reach the start line 10% undertrained than 1% overtrained. Without access to your resting HR trends, I would advise going by feel, If you are tired and worn out (and are sure it's not just laziness or crappy eating), then take 48 hours off completely and make your first run back a gentle one. Gauge what you need based on the gentle run. It's much better to catch these things as early as possible.

Taking 2 days completely down is great for your training. You'll come back refreshed afterwards. I try every 5 or 6 weeks to give myself one weekend completely off. Put the runners away after a speed work session on Friday and don't take them back out until Monday. Don't be concerned at all about missing a few days to give yourself a rest if you're feeling a bit off.
