    Hi,

I'm about to sign up for P2, Corporate Reporting and I hear Reg Callanan, GCD gets results. However, on the GCD website, there is a new International variant. It looks good but I'm wondering whether I should go for it or not. I usually head for city centre but there are 8 trips out to the GCD campus if I pick the International.

Theres also a difference in the hours lectured. The Irish one has more regular short weekly classes and comes in at 67 hours and the International has longer classes every so often. There are 61.5 hours in that course.

Has anyone tried either course? What would you recommend?

PS, do I have to change any of my paper options on myacca page? Do I have to choose the International variant or can I just go ahead?

P2 international has a few extra discussion papers that UK GAAP does not, hence the longer lectures. A lot of the standards are identical so the classes may overlap. IFRS is the future though and it is worth choosing it over UK. You will need to choose the IFRS stream when entering for the exam and you should do IFRS auditing if you choose that one. IFRS auditing is exactly the same as UK auditing as far as the auditing part is concerned (IAS and IAS (UK and ROI) are pretty much identical, with only 6 real differences remaining. You are clearly auditing a different GAAP and that is why it would be more difficult to audit UK GAAP if you had not studied UK GAAP.

If I have passed Irish Auditing, do I have to choose Irish P2?

There is no issue doing int. P2 if you did ROI auditing.
