€7bn is being put into the banks, but how much does this work out per head of population?

    Is it €7000,000,000 / 4,156,119 = €1,684?

It doesn't look so bad that way!

Its a loan, repayable, I think, at 8% interest. How much of it will be recovered remains to be seen.

Absolutely nothing if the way some of the commentators are going on about it is any indication.

Means nothing without comparing to the cost of not recapitalising
