I've got both my pc and my ps3 hooked up to my new Sony DWG700 via HDMI which is then connecting to my Samsung T240 monitor via HDMI. The video is passed through fine but I get no audio at all from the DWG700 and I can't figure out why.

Can any one help me out here?

    Cheers.

Edit: I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to this home cinema stuff so it might be something pretty obvious.

I don't think you'll get audio from your PC via HDMI, unless your motherboard supports it ? Try connecting your soundcard to the Sony Digital In marked DVD/BD, see page 18 of the manual. Page 19 of the manual suggests that you have to connect playback devices by digital audio cable (coax or optical) to get the receiver to put out sound, see also the Trouble shooting questions on page 59. I suggest that you connect your pc using a digital coax cable (you should change the settings on your soundcard to output SPDIF) and connect the PS3 using a digital optical cable.

My graphics card definitely outputs both audio and sound through the HDMI port. I've plugged in the digital coax cable now. I need to restart to turn on the on board audio in the bios. Hope it works.

Ati 4870. Some of the lower end 4000 series cards would have it as well. I think it can do 7.1.
