they are roughly that price here too. i have used one and to be honest the weighton the needle either is too heavy or badly adjusted and it made any record with a small scrath on it skip like mad. it was terrible. but thats just ,y experience.although if u do get it to work it would be well worth it

I'm assuming that you have a record player if it has a phono output, 3.5mm or headphone jack then you should be able to connect it to your computer and record the sound using a program like audacity or something else.

Basically the USB ones are ****e. You're better off buying and old second-hand proper turntable, but you'll be very lucky to get anything half-decent for £50.

You need a pre-amp for a turntable, or the output from a hi-fi amplifier with proper turntable inputs. The output from a turntable is too quiet to go into a standard line-in input on a PC, and needs to be equalized (though the latter can be done on a PC anyway).

Just a plus one for audacity. Haven't used it in a while but it's always done me fine.

For USB turntable, read 'lathe' - those yokes will destroy your vinyl.

Not a notion man, sorry. At a guess oasis. They do instruments and things like that so they might be worth a shot.
