Help! Sky box keeps going into standy

Hi

My sky box continually goes into standby after a while unattended. I presume its standby, the red light comes on and I have to turn it back on.

Thats not the problem though....:mad: All my recordings on DVD recorder now result in a black screen as the sky box doesnt turn itself on. :eek:I select auto-view for the programmes but that doesnt make the box turn on.

Can this be cured or what??!! In fairness the box must be 10 years old, or more. Just had one repair in that time. Is it time for a new one?

It the new Auto-standby feature that has been put in place...to Deactivate it press Services and Setup then go to auto standby and choose off and there ya go it shouldnt bother you anymore.

i wonder why sky have brought this in? is it to make there boxes energy efficent??? or so you buy sky plus?? my sky boxes dont have this update loaded yet.

Its to make them more energy efficent...apparently they use less energy when left on standby than they do when left on fully.
