I came upon this thread a month ago and as I am originally from Ballinteer and cycled as a teenager (back in the '70's) up in the Dublin and Wicklow Mountains, I find it very interesting. I now live in Cork, and have cycled daily for all my adult life on mountain bikes. I am thinking of buying a proper road bike for excursions out of Cork city. What bike would be OK for a reasonably fit 52 year old who is not out to break world records? Many thanks.

Not sure, in these uncertain times, I'll have to save for a while, any advice what I should pay for a decent road bike?

if either of these sizes(57 or 59) would fit you, this is very good value
