I was driving through Castlemartyr, heading to Cork, last week and I saw this sign as I was leaving the Village
'anybody can rob a bank', I'm not sure what it was for, as I didn't see the rest of the sign, am thinking it was for a Play, but don 't really know.

But, it gave me an idea...

You're gonna write a letter of complaint about not being able to see the sign?

nope, hadn't thought of that, I think I read enough of the sign as it was

There might have been another sign further on...
"...but can anyone rob a country?"

You're going to start your own sign-writing business?

Maybe it was a night course? FÁS?

Heaven knows, any bank robber nowadays would probably get a round of applause from the customers. (As long as the robber wasn't part of the bank management.)

The Bypass motorway has killed a great irish tradition, the Local dispute sign.

Times once were that every local dispute and issue merited a sign near the local motorway informing passers by of the opposition to any and every local issue you could imagine.

We invented a game for long drives called "Local Dispute Bingo" where everyone picked 3 types of Local dispute sign, and the last person to fill their list bought the first round.

My favourite local dispute sign was outside Cork city. "No Cathedral for Cobh!"
