    Hi,

Is any member here a member of the Energy Institute? I have been looking at joining this Institute against Engineers Ireland. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I'm MIEI and GradEI. If your in the energy sector then energy institute is the way to go, IEI don't give energy nearly enough coverage like a lot of the other fields outside Civil.
The energy institute's membership structure is complicated and the website doesn't help much so you might need to give them a call to see where you fit into it now.
Downside to the energy institute is that they don't webcast any of their lectures like IEI do and they tend to be mostly in the UK. Their journal (Energy world) is pretty good though.

I'm in the ISPE, international society of pharmaceutical engineers, they are a lot more proactive. I left the old IEI years ago cause all they seem to do was want money from you, might give them a second chance though
