    Hi folks.

I'm not sure that I'm posting this in quite the right place.

I'm looking for year to year Irish inflation percentages from 1989 to 2009. I've tried googling, but I can't find the basic figures I'm looking for.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks.

    D.

This source gives the Irish Consumer Price Index for 1960-2005:

    http://www.nationmaster.com/time.php?stat=eco_con_pri_ind-economy-consumer-price-index&country=ei-ireland

The Central Statistical Office gives details of the CPI on a month-by-month basis here:

    http://www.cso.ie/statistics/consumpriceindex.htm

This table on the CSO site gives the annual rate of increase from 1970 to 2008:

    http://www.cso.ie/statistics/conpriceindex.htm

The last table is what you are looking for, but the others will give you additional data.

That's exactly what I was looking for, thanks.

Was trying to set up a multiplier table for work, to show how the value of an item bought X years ago for Y should now be worth Z. So, if it was £100 (€126.97), it should be €1,661.91 today.

    If I've done it right!!!

Yep, this looks OK. Pretty shocking to see the impact of inflation over the last 38 years - it works out at an annual rate of 7% on average over the period.
