Upgrading RAM

    Have a dell dimension 3000. Have two 1gb DDR RAM modules. CAn someone tell me, as im a novice, how to install it? Is that static thing necessary?

    before touching the ram just make sure you havent been rubbing yourself off carpet are anything else very static!:D if your psu has a switch at the back,switch it off and plug it in,this will keep the case grounded, rub your hands along the metal inside the case to make sure you havent any static and ya shud be fine..........then just line up the ram and push it down......its not very hard:p your pc is crap btw:pac:

    also when replacing the ram,they are normaly locked in place by little tabs at the end,just make sure you have these pushed open otherwise you will end up wrestling with your pc tryin to get em out

    I knows it's crap by modern standards. Its just something in family home for internet browsing and odd application.
