ok just after reading quite a few threads on here that ask the question along the lines how do i pay the bills if i wanna enter the natorius and wild sound buisness,
so i thought this might be a good idea to start a thread with a list of 'alternate' jobs that actually DO pay teh bills at home.

i dont know much but ill start it off, if you know of any jobs that envolve music then you should add it to this thread, im sure alot of young sound grad's might find it handy:

    1. music instrument shop ie music maker waltons perfect pitch etc

    2. music record store virgin hmv etc

3.my freind got a job in a place called 'aquarius' sound and lighting, altho its not much of a shop with only a few things on display in an industrial estate they supply all the gear for live venues n that

4.another place like that is 'litton lane' audio and there warehouse is quite huge, i seen some leprachaun-workers doing there thing in the warehouse, and im sure theres alot of companies like these out there.

    5. iv worked in a radio station as an 'outside broadcast' engineer, fancy title an all but it was a CE scheme and was 20 hours a week, was a nifty job tho.

So to all those people wandering how people make a living off sound, this is it ^^^.

after you get a job like the above^ you can start getting to know people further on, and then thats when you often come across people who need a sound engineer to do a few nights on the desk hear and there.

If i think of anything more ill keep it posted, but any more ideas welcome.

Id say the engineers that are working the most have a van and a strong back.
