Problem with Humax Foxsat HD Freesat Digital TV Recorder

I find when recording one channel, the selection of other channels to view is restricted. eg when recording BBC1, UTV, BBC HD, ITV2, ITV3, and many other channels unavailable. When recording UTV, BBC1, BBC2, Ch4, Five, BBC3, BBC4, etc unavailable. The unavailable channels appear on LIST in lighter font than those that are available to view. When I try selecting the various unavailable channels from the EPG, I fail. I have two feeds coming in from a quad LNB. The signal strength and quality are 80% and 100% on both tuners. I have set a NI postcode (BT35 8QS)

Anyone with similar issues OR anyone with suggestions to resolve?

since no one else has answered...
I don't have one myself, but I saw a similar problem report here:-

    someone responded in post # 168 :-
"It sounds to me like your Humax thinks it’s only got one LNB feed. I suggest you run through the setup wizard again, and make sure you select the option for a twin LNB feed, and see if this makes any difference."
    might be worth a try...

In case the above doesn't work...

I have only one cable connected to mine and I haven't looped it through as they suggest, because I will be putting in another cable.
Anyway when I go into the settings menu it shows signal strength and quality on both tuners. So that may be misleading you.
It might only be getting one signal , maybe you have a cable or a connection problem. Try disconnecting them one at a time.

Hi grey squirrel - I bought a high def box and at time I read that the HDR box could only record a channel with the same polarity as the channel being viewed .... perhaps this explains your problem?

MartinF has given you the clue - your box thinks that you have only one LNB cable.
I've had a Humax since early Jan and it's the bee knees for reliability after the crap I put up with on the Thomson HD box from SKY for the past two and a half years.
If you have a dual feed to the box, go through the installation setup again and ensure that the box detects both feeds. I had a similar issue on initial setup. There seems to be a firmware bug that shows two feeds in the diagnostic menu, even if you have only one cable connected. This will be corrected in a future release I'm sure as it has been reported as a problem.
In a correctly detected dual-feed setup, you can record two programmes on one transponder (say BBC 1 and BBC three), while watching a programme on another (say ITV). At any stage you can record two programmes on different transponders while playing back a recording from the media menu.

Thanks a lot for all the help. I did a factory re set with the two cables connected and everything is sorted.
