Here is the newest price in from the UK including VRT and VAT, ferry flight and 3 year warranty.

It is for an SE without leather.

    Our dealers here €52,000 new,

08 second hand imports from €42k.

    What a joke

I am sure you could add leather after for VRT fukkers.
Could be dearer, and leather seats usually electric.

Here is the latest brand new BMW 520d SE price from the UK £24,241

    less VAT £21,079 = €24,040 + 21.5% Vat (€5,168)

    VRT approx 7k

    €12,000 tax in total

Brand new car landed for under 35,500 euro.

Conlon, perhaps you should name and shame the Irish dealer asking you for €52k because the undiscounted Irish price is more like €47k according to bmw.ie

Auto is €52k, manual SE is €47.

Auto is £25k stg + 1 extra VRT band.

Can you think of 12,000 reasons that there should be this much difference.

Coincidently VAT and VRT is €12,000.

12000 reasons? Try, the price is from a completely different country, trading market, currency, larger market etc etc etc.

It is cheaper, but it is NOT FAIR to compare prices in one country to another.

Come on buddy, we've heard this before from you. Its like a feckin broken record at this stage.

Sorry conlon I've done the figures but an auto is more like 44k to land here not 35k. It is well established that it's cheaper to import - no point in going on about it like a broken record as drummerboy mentioned. By doing to comparisons in an unfair manner it sounds like you've got a chip on your shoulder about something. What's your agenda?

Why are you guys defending BMW.

I am just trying to have a thread here constantly that stops BMW Ireland ripping people off.

Hopefully anyone buying a 520d will read this or will talk to someone who is a boards fan.

I know, but even if 1% of possible BMW customers see this.

Why are you attacking BMW and not for example Audi, Ford or Nissan?*

Your figures are unsubstantiated and plain false. I'm defending truth and correct information in a public forum.

    * Random car manufacturers. No other reason to mention them.

Fair play mate, you have the best intentions, however people in Ireland like being screwed. Oh and your knocking BMW on boards big no no..

    Nice try...

And the irony there would be that he's promoting one of the two big causes for him being let go - the loss of sales to the UK.
