    Hey all,

Trying to gauge interest in this idea. The Poker Forum and Soccer Forum are playing regular games against each other and one of their players, Dub13, mentioned we should try get an inter-fora league together.

Do you think a group of the regulars here could get maybe 13-18 players together for a team.

Anyone interested in this? I'd be perhaps interested, although I imagine we might struggle to get 18 or so interested. As runners who train most days of the week, many might be reluctant to miss training, or risk injury, but I miss football, having played for 10 years but then giving up a few years ago when training for first marathon. I didn't want to get injured at football and miss the marathon, but then got the running bug so never went back.

It would be very interesting to see from a fitness point of view would we have much of an advantage over some of the other teams who may not be as used to running. When I played football I was about 3 stone heavier, lost weight with running, but would love to see how I am as a footballer now, being 3/4 the size!

Centre midfield is where I ended up, but also played on the wing and full-back. Not good enough in the air for centre-half, wouldn't mind trying up front...

I would be up for this but as you said I would be concerned with injury, if its played on astro I would consider it as this would limit the amount of slide tackles. I think from a fitness point of view we would be solid and it would be evident. When I was running in 02 I was playing football aswell as running and I was by far the fittest on the team, also a centre midfielder and I would have covered every blade of grass, I think Krusty still plays aswell. Also I reckon I have a few mates that would be interested if we were stuck for numbers.

'Plays' is a very flattering description of what I do on a football pitch. :o
I play in defense (full-back or left) because that's where I do the least amount of damage. But I'm already giving up my own regular football game in a couple of weeks in favour of the big push for the sub 3 hours, so don't think I could reasonably fit this in.

    A wise move.
It's very difficult to mix football with running.
A better option would be to get the Boards football team to compete against the top 11 Boards AC members in a 10K road race.:)
No, I can't see that happening.

Why not make it a multi event league so that each forum have there area if expertise every third competition
For example Soccer Match, Poker night and Race even make a little overall league format could be a laugh?
