    Help!

My internet wont hold itself togeather long enough to present any page. I turn the laptop on, it says local connections all good and then when I try to get a page up it says IE cannot display this page. Im getting really bored of trying to fix the bloody thing and its slowly driving me mad.

This is what Ive done so far....not a huge ammount...but Im not surer where to move from here

    Plugged and unplugged everything.
Had Smart out to look at it. Worked while they were there apparently.
Short wire to modem from phoneline.
    Run the diagnostics reccommended

So the local area connection is good but somethings stopping it.

Can anyone suggest me an idea besides slamming the lid down really hard - which is near to happenning:( Thanks.

Do you have any firewall software installed? Is Windows firewall enabled?

No - not enabeled. Its working today but seems to go on strike in the evenings. Its like Im cut off atfter 6pm. Smart guy said Im paying for 4mg but getting one and so to downgrade. I dont know why they cant bring me up to 4. Im paying €40 p/m for a touch and go connection. And its not as if Im living in the country. Im in Dublin so I dont understand why I cant get the full 4.
