Randy Orton's IED.. Good Idea Or Bad Idea?

As we all found out a couple of weeks ago on Raw, Randy Orton has IED (Intermittent Explosive Disorder), causing him to have caused harm to the Chairman, and to Shane and Steph last week. Now my question is, do you think it was the right move for the WWE to have given Orton's character IED? Do you think it will help or harm his character overall? I sort of liked the fact that he always did evil things because... he was such an evil heel. period. It made him seem maniacal and calculating. It made him look down-right evil, it made him one of the best, if not the best, heels. But now that he has IED, the blame for his attacks are shunned onto the disorder, not to Orton. So, do you think that this weakens his heel character overall, or do you think that, since its now "not Orton's fault", people will despise him even more? Also, do you think they will keep this IED concept as a permanent part of his character? If so, do you think it would be a good idea or a bad idea?

I can't see it being permanent but obviously will be around for the foreseeable future, i.e. 1/2 years.

I think it was stupid using a disorder that is directly related to steroid use but that's just from a PR stand point and irrelevant to it affecting his character.

I haven't really paid much attention to it tbh, he was crazy and evil before, he's the same now. He's playing it out well himself with his facial expression and that after doing something which he looks like he regrets, but I don't really see it creating extra heat at all. In fact surely it makes him look a bit weaker in that he's not actually doing these things "himself". If he was a humble, face worker and he had these fits of rage I think it would be far more interesting, but make ing a heel more aggressive just isn't that big a deal imo.

isnt it just something for the commentators to be able to emphasise his heelish ways by saying he is hiding behind it to justify any terrible actions he continues to take, as apposed to something that will be a long term part of his character.

It can really add to his character.......He is so diabolical he gets someone to say he has IED and uses it as an excuse everytime he does something. It is the perfect get out of jail free card.........

He should bring that therapist in every fight and use him as an excuse, then it could turn out that IED is contagious and have the therapist help him out in matches like the old days when the manager use to sneak in attacks when the rep wasn't looking.

They seem to be building up the feud with HHH quite nicely.

IED has absolutely nothing to do with steroids, or even hormones, at all

I think it's an interesting enough angle. Of course, it doesn't make any sense whichever way you look at it, but when does that ever matter?
