Have on in black, the original limited edition.

I think I'll leave it to Dex and Masada to do a review, im suprised Richie ahsnt done one, considering its such a gorgous rifle.

Mine unfortunately is suffering from severe low fps, hopefully fixed soon to mop up in the warehouse and pr3

Its actually a beautiful piece of kit. the quality is fantastic and theres some really gucci parts on it.
However, I've seen with a few of them that air leaks are a problem. the O-ring in them seems to be too small for the size of the cylinder. they are supposed to shoot around 320fps but its more like 280ish. they feel great though, external quality is brilliant and their definitely worth the money, even with the small air leak problem. they come with an 11.1v lipo and charger too.,:)

    EDIT:
just remembered, the PMAGs are fierce tight in the Troy magwell and are a pain in the ar*e to use at first, after a while though they'll wear in and be easier. you could always just file the edges of it and it'll be fine.,:)

Yeah mine ahs that dirty air leak and fires 110 fps, its so annoying, as long range its beautiful and it would be absolutely fanatstic in the CQB enviroment of the warehouse.

I remember myself and masada using them on their first urn in HRTa, and I think the Troys racked up a ridiclous amount of enemy kills.

    One serious piece of kit

Aghh I vowed never to purchase that rag again! Seriously after reading an issue of Take AIM you'd feel hard done by paying for AI.

Bought the tryo m7a1 from airsoft armoury after having to send the first back as they sent me one without sights. i got new new one (with sights) and chrono'd it, firing at 190-193fps with 2.5gm bb's.
Took it to site shop for engineers (quality guy) to put a systemma 1.5j spring in and that lifted it to 195-197fps.

is this a similar problem to the one above? seems very dodgy to me as some of the internal gears are different 2 gold metal 1 plastic and the motor looks like a standard cheap soft motor with no marking what so ever.

are there any solutions to the very low fps?
anyone know if the motor/ gears should look like this?

shouldn't buying a expensive gun means it does what it say's out the box, feel quite disgusted

Thats been the case with all 4 of the ones ive worked on.
its the o-ring, i replaced the piston head altogether and got a great seal. :)

thanks, can you please answer some more questions,
what was the fps like after your made these changes,
would you suggest any other upgrades or repairs to make this gun all it should be?:pac:

has there been any other problems?

can you comment on the plastic cog in gear box and the un marked motor?
i have attached pictures of both.

thanks for your response was going to send back tomorrow

You're not alone, I had a KA Troy, it self destructed it's gearbox twice, and motor gave me no end of trouble. I had it for several months and never got more than half a days run out of it. I fixed it one last time, tested a few times, and sold it to a mate at an extreme cut rate, (he knew the Ts&Cs) it's now working perfect.. sods law...

Ive overhauled a couple of the 2010 version of this, its pretty much identical to the older one i have, but ive seen a few of them fitted with a spring thats too weak for the rate of fire. ie, the gun is turning over so fast the gears are catching the piston before its fully forward again.

To cure it you need to install a stronger spring, and possibly a ported cylinder(further forward than the original) and the piston will return faster. Might aswell get the angle of engagement sorted out aswell while its open.

bar that though, its still a fantastic gun, a bit pricey, but very well made. :)

Sounds more like a €500 paper weight until somebody like you manages to sort it Richie :)

well sent back the troy stubby to retailer and have been told its been FIXED properly.after 20 mins of play from new! reason nozzle and guide spring broke more than once is down to the Motor, not enough power in motor to run gearing etc.seemed the shims in gearing were throwing gears out of line too.{so he says}we'll wait and see.ill have it back tuesday.christ if it breaks again i'm gonna put it under tracks of my own DOZER and grind it into a paste and make retailer sniff it.

Can anyone advise me on a gun worth about 380 that's very reliable and worth all this hassle before i'm turned off airsoft for good.
