Guys this guy is a personal friend and I sent him to this forum. With the levels of experience here i presume he would have a few options to chose from. The above offer from Oliver is exactly what i hoped he would receive.

Thanks in advance for anyone else who can either offer their services or direct them to someone who has their expertise in this area and would be willing to draw up the business plan.

    Hi there,

I'd like to offer my services....... what type of business is it? Ideally it will be in an area that I have experience or knowledge otherwise it will be tricky. Again, depending on what you're up to I might even be able to help you get the project off the ground !!!

I have Pm'd email and phone number.

    Cheers,

    Darren

Look the whole benefit of a business plan is what you learn while writing it and not the finished product. Unless writing the plan is purely to get Bank Finance i think having someone else write your business plan is pointless.

Get yourself a good business plan template and work through each heading, its not rocket science.

Most of the business bank websites have business plan templates so write it yourself and then have someone do a constructive criticism of it. If you are going to present this business plan to Banks, Investors etc you need to be completely familiar with it and to be able to answer tough questions that is why writing ityourself is imperative.

If you need someone to give you a critique of it , then PM me. I currently run my own business and worked as MD of a division of a UK PLC for 15 years so I have put together many business plans.

Speaking on his behalf, although templates are available he said he cannot find one to suit this exact are (it is a unique idea). He also assures me that he knows exactly what to have in the business plan, that it's just his in-experience in the professional drawing up of the plan that he looked for advice.

Also, It is to present to a private investor. So would be simular to what they look for i suppose.

Edit: Edit to say, i do agree with the benefits of drawing the Plan yourself

business plans are all the same.
    market demand
    market size
    competitors
    product/solution/need
    sales targets/ marketing plan
    management team
    financials
    production/development
    investment required

business plan for small cornor shop or google will all have the same basic structure.
the unique idea is the product/service and will be max 2 pages of the plan.

go to the enterprise boards they will give him a mentor to help write the plan.

I'd be delighted to help you. One cannot start a business without one and also understanding it. It is also necessary to prepare a corresponding cashflow. Scenarios are also important....best, medium & worst and how it fits in with your financial resources.

Why not give me a PM

    A chat costs nothing

IF you are incapable of writing your own business plan, you may lack the vital basic skills to create and run a small business. The process of creating a business plan invites the promoter to challenge his ideas and conceptions. Taking advice is one thing, looking for someone to "Ghost" write a plan strikes me as a danger sign that you are failing your very first challenge in what will be a long series of challenges before you. If you are a mad scientist and have cracked the secret of nuclear fission in a test tube then you don't need a business plan, otherwise YOU NEED TO WRITE IT YOURSELF. There are plently of generous souls here who will read it and give you feedback, you can add my name to the list, but don't shirk the job, write your own business plan.

Not everyone is great at business plans. Having a basic idea and a general direction is enough for most. A business plan is not ESSENTIAL to running a successful small business. It will be needed if you want to get funding etc etc.

I suggest making an attempt to write one yourself, get some hints and tips and read a few other plans before you start.

Guys please keep all contact details off public view. That is what the PM system is for.
