    Hello ,was just wondering is it crazy to try and upgrade an 06 car to an 08 ?
    Was going to try and trade in an 06 Civic 1.8 ,for a 08 corrolla or auris.

    I would think it is possible, but you'd likely get far less then you'd hope for as a trade in value.

    I didn't look closely enough at the page ,sorry. I only spotted that after I posted.
    But my car is newer and in a different league to the bmw.

    Newer = more valuable = harder to sell.

    Civic 1.8 ? Big engine for the car, harder to sell than a Civic 1.4. I'm sure someone out there is looking for a Civic 1.8, and is probably a nicer car to drive, but the 1.4 would have broader appeal.

    To original question, I don't see any problem with the trade you are looking for, except how much they might ask you to change. It's all down to money ....

    sell privately for 13. buy an 08 corolla/auris for 16. 3k difference.

    It's not crazy to trade in a 06 car for a 08, but it is crazy to go from a nice 1.8 Civic to a crappy and dull Auris. Get some sense man! Keep the Civic!

    I completely agree. As far as i could see, you'd be getting a worse car in EVERY way
