    Hey folks,

Getting wed in July and curious to know how long Champagne will keep as we are going to supply it ourselves and pay corkage on it. Saw a few good deals lately and was wondering if its too soon to buy it?!!:P

Not too soon - Champagne should keep for at least 12 months.

Problem is that as on vintage Champagne doesn't have a production date you need to make sure it hasn't been sitting in a back room for 2 years or more!

Don't worry about that at all, if it's only the summer time you're keeping it too. We have a 1996 Champagne and it's drinking beautifully. Although, admittedly so, not many keep that long! Anything within a year - no drama.

When you buy it, store in a cool place where the temperature won't fluctuate too much, and lie the bottles on their belly.

If you can get Tesco finest NV at 25% off, I reckon thats the best deal around. It's a seriously nice champers and served blind , drinks like a wine nearly twice it's price.
