Make of this what you will: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lG-M1CWskeQ

Looks like someone was watching Pat interviewing Pete last Friday and got inspired!

This must be a skit, he recently announced he's retiring from acting but this looks like a publicity stunt.

Joachim came across like dick there. He was unwilling to participate in the interview, why even bother turning up? Either he was in character for another film or he's a pretentious knob.

Edit, oh. He's quit acting. I guess it's the former.

Haha. That was class. I love the way they settled on the fact early on that the interview was going nowhere and decided to play it for laughs. Phoenix was acting the dick really, but Letterman was well able for him.

Normally actors are contracted to do promotion for movies so they legally have to do interviews.

    Or the Latter rather.

Letterman handled it well, could you imagine he was on with Pat? Complete and utter silence for 10 minutes :)

Yeah that's probably the likely story actually. I suppose if you look at the interview, you can se he is easily acting-crap actor! :p
At the end he says something to Letterman. I reckon he was in on it.

That was like something straight out of Larry Sanders - hard to know if it's parody or not.

Letterman, like most hosts, meets his guest prior to going on.
Phoenix either stiched him up like a kipper of the two of them are in on it.

Very entertaining non the less. :)

I'd say it was a piss pull/parody. Good way to get people talking about him and the movie.

I think both Phoenix and Letterman were in on this...

    Excellent stuff nonetheless!
