Man arrested after Govt Buildings incident

Gardaí and fire brigade personnel have overpowered a man who threatened to set himself on fire outside Government Buildings.

The man had been holding a flask of petrol and a cigarette lighter.

During the melee, the petrol was spilt but did not ignite as fire brigade personnel immediately activated water hoses and fire extinguishers.

The man has been arrested and been taken away by gardaí.

The area directly outside Government Buildings had been sealed off.

Fella on the radio (cant remember who?!) last night had a great idea - ban cigarettes completely, make them illegal and youd have so many people aggrevated by the nicotine withdrawal that the theyd be able to overthrow the government.
