    Hi,

My Mum and Dad have Sky in.They got 2 boxes and dad likes to watch old movies (but does not have a sub) in the sitting room and mum just likes to watch the news and nationwide and the late late and stuff like that in the kitchen/livinroom.
However, they complain its too dear as they are just pensioners and tbh, they don't imho, get value from their sky package as they dont watch all the extra channels at all.

So, if they were to dump sky, take out the gear, what Freesat install would you recommend that would allow them to watch different content on the 2 different tellys in the 2 different rooms.

All they want really is the BBC's. ITV's and the RTE's, TV3 and TG4.....thats all really - and ohhhh, cost of install and equipment please if anyone knows.:)

    Ta,

    NIF

No RTE's, TV3's or TG4's on Freesat - only available with a Sky sub

They can keep there sky equipment. They will continue to receive bbc , ITV , Ch4 and all FTA content on the sky boxes.
They need a decent aerial(s) installed for the 4 Irish channels if they don't already have one.

Get them to cancel their sub. They will get to keep both boxes and will have the 200 odd free channels. Then for the "magic 4" (RTE 1&2 TV3 TG4) you can get them a decent aerial. Even 2 indoor ones will do if you dont fancy doing the work your self. All you have to do is just tune them in.

    Didn't I just say that?

    Thanks for the suggestions.

Problem tho! Their Roof Aeriel was taken down due to the rebuilding of a new chimney and never went back up. Fitting one in the attics a non runner as they live in a dip surrounded by hills.
Is there no digital way to recieve the RTE's at present?

Depends on your location, and what transmitter you receive RTE, etc. from (a few terrestrial transmitters have DTT broadcasts atm - see Terrestrial forum).
