What's an alleycat? Is it like a dance-off?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,860 ✭✭✭TinyExplosions

No idea what the route is, and not sure if I'll be riding -I have tentative other plans.

Lycra is a good idea though :)

Oh no, I was going on the safe assumption that you wouldn't be there... now you are, I guess I'll have to show up, and try not to embarass myself... I can see a big clean and tighten up of the Mercian coming on

The courier racing doping test: anyone found without some sort of drugs in their system is disqualified.

Dont mind me Al, I really wanted to be elsewhere but best not to waste the night. ~I ran a evening/night in the GBS last year-"Valentines day massacre" no racing- oh wait there was, and a social meetup - dressed up in suits and dresses. was good/strange to see my friends dresssed up. our work gear became so functional, it is all we wear.
    see ya friday

will bring the headset spanner for you if crc are still fcukin up your orders.

I knew where you were supposed to be, but cool, sure we can get a little tipsy after anyway... cheers on the spanner, hoping mine's waiting in the postbox when I get home, but who knows!

Don't think I'll be in a suit tomorrow, but maybe in my Rapha shorts :)

I went in aswell, I have so much respect for the couriers, i had loads, i now have buckets more.

I just got lost, teamed up with one lad and was following his directions till my front light came off on the cobbles, stopped to pick it up and he was gone. I did a coupla more checkpoints and then just got totally lost and cried off met some of my mates that were out. Really sorry now i didnt head back up to the finish and just hang out.

Think ill just take photos or help out at a checkpoint for the next one

We decided beer and food were more important, so didn't bother racing, but went straight to the after party -that was fun :)

I was in town on friday night and saw all the fixies zooming around. Some really unique looking ones; saw a pink/orange (light was bad) road frame with what appeared to be BMX style handlebars.

    Man those guys move fast.

Yarrr, hard not to see us racing, lol.
That frame you saw im pretty sure is a track frame, unless it has vertical dropouts...Yeah weird choice of bars, I think its red btw.
Fast....Yeah we only need one gear.. hahah.
Neil did great, first non-courier and that was his first time racing, Graham should have the photos and placings up soon.
Do any of you know what the filming was for? I had a nice few appearances:P.

    incrimination:D
the bmx handle bars are because the guy likes riding backwards around in circles, perhaps they make it easier.

Well in fairness changing your riding position completely(never mind the looks) for one trick wouldnt be imo enough.
Sure the riding position on my bike is pretty aggressive and I can do backwards circles just fine.:D

pretty sure it was the crime line camera crew, we were getting fed up of being misrepresented, so we went straight to where we would end up :D
