Hi, I have a Fujitsu Scaleo P, running vista home. 2 weeks ago I installed some windows updates and was asked to restart. After 5 minutes the 'shutting down' message was still on the screen and I manually turned off the pc and restarted it.

No problems for another week when I tried to start up and all I got was a repeating beeping noise, beeps approx 3 sec, then pause, beep etc.

The pc is still 2 months within warranty so I left it in, they returned it 2 days later and it worked. They blamed me for shutting the pc down and couldnt find anything wrong after running 'extensive diagnostics' so I suspect it worked fine for them.

It worked fine for another week and then the same problem reoccurs. I've left it back in to be repaired but am wary as to what they will conclude.

Has anyone come across this problem? I've done a quick google and battery and faulty ram/faulty ram connections seems to be some possibilities.

    Thanks.

ps CPU and power supply fans are running.

    moved,
if it beeps before windows starts then not likely to be a windows problem

make a note of the beep codes
2 long, 1 short, long etc.

if all else fails leave it on diagnostics overnight maybe the problem will show up then
