Famous Parents Needed?

Looking at FCW's new talent page, there's a shedload of second-generation superstars on there, all with famous names, and it got me thinking will it soon be a requirement that in order to be successful you need famous parents?

Think about it, DiBiase and Rhodes aren't that different to any other wrestler you can pick up on the indy circuit, but the fact that they've got famous parents gave them an instant tool to get over, both of them have been introduced by there father's and both were instantly over (DiBiase more than Rhodes, it has to be said). They've got a gimmick just waiting for them and its a hell of a lot easier to get over than it is a new wrestler without a famous name coming in.

So will it soon be a requirement to have famous parents? There's several second-generation stars currently in development, including the son's of Davey Boy Smith, Ted DiBiase (again) and Mr. Perfect, so will they all find it easier to gain success in the WWE?

Being second or third generation allows you to get to WWE a lot easier and WWE seem to push them as they have had great success in the past. (Rock, Orton)

Its not worked for Sim Snuka so far has it?

Ted Dibiase has actual great talent, like his father.

I don't think now is any different from what it ever was. There will always be 2nd, 3rd generation wrestlers out there. They are just telling us there names now and making us more aware of it.

The likes of Dibiase, the first Rhodes brother, Orton and the Rock would have made it regardless. The likes of Cody, Natalya and Carlito and Primo could have made it but only got noticed because of their name. It's also not a guarantee and Teddy Hart is an example of this. Super talented but a massive dick so he has been released numerous times.

It's just Vince's mentality. They've released better workers from OVW in the past

Agreed:there's no limit to how good Ted is going to be. He carries himself like a veteran already after only a few months on National TV, imagine how good he'll be in 5 years' time?

I dont think its a case of having a famous father as a wrestler.

I think its just being born into the business and growing up with it. I guess this would be the case with most of them.
Look at Vince McMahon JR. He was born into the business and grew up with it and redesigned it how he saw fit. I'd say he had a good idea about it because, as i said, he was born into it.

I dunno what has gone wrong so far with shane, but im sure he will do good in whatever position he does fall into eventually.

Obviously in the WWE that helps a little bit more further than just in ring abilities, it will have an affect if the wrestlers father has a personal phone number of vince mcmahon so he can give him a call and ask him a favour.

This is a good example, John Cena SR. was a promoter/booker wasnt he? So im sure some of that obviously rubbed off little john as he was growing up.

Some of them will work out and some of them wont, they obviously have an advantage with growing up in the business and having good genes, but that doesnt automatically mean they will succeed, it just means in theory they have a higher probability of success

Joe Hennig is suppose to be very promising
    Harry Smith
TJ Wilson has just started on ECW, very promising
Brett DiBiase (another son) will probably be worth a look in a few years

Mr Perfect Jr would be the perfect person to push as a Legacy member (far better than Manu or Sim Snuka imo) with a future face turn too imo if hes up to it and thats just from the fact that he is Mr Perfect Jr.

with a name like Brett Dibiase and his brother already making a name for himself id say he is a lock to make it too if hes good enough.

I wouldn't agree with the "born into the business" line. A lot of these guys would only see their fathers two days a week at most. I'm sure that some were intrigued by what their fathers did but just as many likely had no connection to it

There was a note in the Observer this week about Brett DiBiase looking so similar to Ted that it could work against him

Yet this could also lead to them being an obvious enough option as a tag team, if they are very similar. And if Ted Jnr is already big when the other bro is introduced they could feud them against people like the Hardys, or have Brett angle that is hes trying to emulate/copy his brother (is a copy) and sure if they are really that similar they could even go the doubles angle a la when Hawkins and Ryder first arrived with Edge as doplegangers.

In fairness if the younger DiBiase is good enough he'll make it, regardless of whether he looks too much like his brother, you can't hold talent down like that especially if it's in their blood which it obviously is.

    For comparison sake
