STEORN 2 new products

Got this in the inbox today. Has anyone any experience of their two new products? (I seem to remember this company being the topic of a thread a while ago.)

    Dublin, 10 February 2009.

After six years of research and development, Steorn launches the first of
the four technology streams associated with the development of Orbo
    technology.

SteornLab is a range of laboratory and test equipment targeted at
organisations developing rotary and magnetic systems. The first two
SteornLab products are available to purchase from today.

A second technology range, ZeroF passive magnetic bearings, is scheduled
for commercial launch during summer 2009.

The Steorn commercialisation and e-learning platform, SKDB, will launch
alongside the much-anticipated Orbo technology towards the end of 2009.

The final testing of the SKDB commences with a call for 300 engineering
organisations / qualified engineers to sign up. There will be no
subscription charge for those involved in this final testing phase, just a
requirement to enter into our standard developer licence agreement.

"2009 represents a turning point for Steorn, Orbo and our other technology
ranges," said CEO Sean McCarthy. "It marks the end of a long cycle of R&D
and sees us making a strong push towards commercialisation - our plans
show the business reaching profitability in the next 12 to 18 months."

I am shocked to hear you say Orbo is ready.... I don't believe it as to date I haven't heard of a working example.....
    perpetual motion machine in short....

More marketing fluff. I spent the last thread on their announcement playing devil's advocate and giving them the benefit of the doubt. Then the demonstration "fails" and they disappear for a while.

It's all about generating hype and publicity and coming up with cool names for stuff. Like Apple. Except unlike Apple, they don't have any groundbreaking products.

can they work on the banks gearing?

    "More marketing fluff"

But they aren't selling anything... well not yet anyway.

I agree that their methods of giving out information is frustrating, but thats not a reason to rubush the claim.

Its a simple matter of "is it possible that the law of energy conservation could be wrong"

it is possible the laws of energy conservation are wrong, unlikely but possible...
thats not the point with Steorn, they tell us they are wrong, they tell us they have working examples but to date no one has seen one....
marketing fluff doesn't begin to describe this pile of rubbish

and so now we learn of the payload.

January's Phoenix had a short article detailing how they are keeping going. They are losing money but have somehow managed to recruit investors with deep pockets.

so how are they keeping going?

People are stupid enough to keep funding them

I have a friend who actually works there. Whenever i ask him is it true that they have this amazing technology he just laughs and says "smoke and mirrors. make of that what you will."

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,473 ✭✭✭robtri

Smoke and mirrors says it all really.....

if this was true, and they had a working example, they would have it out there, as it would be as good as a licence to print money...

I dunno, I've just read "How Orbo Works." It seems to me that it's an enzyme particulate antimatter transmitter. Now, we all know that magnetism is essentially NUCLEAR in nature, so wow, how about that. I'd say that the energy covalency of the microcellular structure supporting the spin-up domains and maintaining separation from the spin-down domains is probably about five, which puts it just above lactamose on the Grenshaw scale! If they can couple the time-variant component of the w-dimensional tree into the conformability matrix, it should blow everything else out of the water.

    Count me, er, out.

See, you forgot to invert the phase-pulsars of the anti-matter conduits. Thats your problem. Looks like you had the cowboys in darlin' ...oooh, thats gonna cost ya.
