Hi guys , so Ryanair are again offering cheap flights. Might Just Head To Brussels. The Airport is Charleroi. Im Wondering is that far from the town of Brussels Cause i Don't want to be stuck too far from the City.

Also i Heard Bruges is near the airport? Anyone know if this is True?

Brussels South Charleroi Airport is located approximately 8 km from the centre of Charleroi and 46 Km from the centre of Brussels. A bus connects the airport to the trainstation. There are rail connections to the rest of Belgium. Please check www.charleroi-airport.com for further information.

All the info is on the Ryanair site :

Maybe you should look at a map of Belgium? Charleroi is about 2 hours by train to Bruge with a change of trains at Brussels. Worth the travel time though and the train service is excellent.
Also, there's a shuttle from the airport to the train station in Charleroi that leaves every hour. If you miss that, add another hour to your journey.

  • I think Charleroi is one of the worst 'Ryanair' airports. I've had to make the trip a few times in the last few weeks, and it always takes forever, waiting for a local bus in the freezing cold, going to the train station (a good 20 mins at least), arriving at Charleroi Sud station (total kip), waiting for a train, and then about an hour on the train to Brussels Central. The whole process takes longer than the flight itself! There is a coach but I always seem to have just missed it. Aer Lingus isn't that much more expensive (add 12+ euro onto the Ryanair price for the train ticket) and it takes you much closer to Brussels!
