I was just going to post about the same thing, so sorry this is not an answer to your question.

I have to go to Whitfield hospital in waterford to have my 4 wisdom teeth removed under general anesthetic. Bottom two are impacted. Thing is my vhi only covers 60% of the op in whitfield so I'm wondering what the balance will be. I rang them today to find out but the doc not there until next week and I'm starting to get panicky about how much it will cost me. The vhi also told me that I would be fully covered in waterford regional hospital but my dentist doesn't refer patients to there. What do you think, change to a different dentist?

You're lucky, the tooth must have been almost full erupted/visible, a lot of people have to get them dug out of their gums :-/

I'm getting two out in the morning-under a local. I think mine are fully out (well, I hope so, as I was stoopid enough to watch the procedure on youtube- just a bit frightened now.) I was quoted around the 90 mark (assuming it's all a simple easy procedure) aswell- so I'll post the price I had to pay if I'm able tomorrow. I have no insurance and I'm unemployed- so this should be great fun!

All done! No bother at all- the worst part is having gauze in my mouth as it tastes digusting! Cost me 140 euro for two (1top and 1bottom)

    go oversees
I called once the blackrock clinic
    estimation:
    150euro consultancy
    400 anaesthetic
    900 per teeth
those numbers were given over the phone

    poland:
150euro for 3 teeth with anaesthetic

Bloody hell those figures are cheap. I was quoted €200+ per tooth by the dentist I visited last week. I can't remember but one set costs more than the other to remove (can't remember whether it was top or bottom).

He was good tbh but not cheap! :)

(I'll still go back to him though).

    Hi there,

i had my bottom right one taken out last year in a dental practice in Dun Laoghaire, it was partially erupted. they sent me to St Michaels Dental Hospital first for a full x-ray and i think this was free. from this they said that the root was far enough away from the nerve to take it out on the chair. it took all of 2 minutes. he sowed it up and brought me back in a week later to check it was all good! i have PRSI and it cost me €50! :)
