Cork - 2004 Clio 1.5 Timing Belt

Started ringing around for quotes for a timing belt/water pump change on my Clio, and so far I've gotten just over and just under 500 euros from two independent garages. This seems high to me compared to what I've seen on other threads. Can anyone recommend a good mechanic around Cork with more reasonable prices?

Also whats the general stand on supplying parts for the mechanic, will most refuse to do labour only work, similar to the tyre fitters?

Just to add, for anyone that has bought the parts themselves, is there a big difference in irish car parts versus uk, and who did you buy from?

To be honest, get the quote for the parts, then get quotes for the job done by an Indy.
You'll find that the mechanic is not making that much on the parts compared to what you will buy them for.
Sure, he can get them for cheaper than you, but the more you take from his profit on parts, the more he will charge you on labour. A falce economy really.
Anyway, if the parts are wrong, he has to get the right ones (this could be a headache for you).

Just get the quote for the full job (imo).

    €500 is not bad.
