Hi Guys,

I am heading on a stag to Hamburg in a couple of months and i was wondering if anyone as any experiences of going there?

Good bars, restaurants etc.

Enjoy, it's a great city for a stag! I went last year, stayed at the Zleep Hotel.
Not sure if the link will work, but it's a nice very clean simple, basic hotel, has a bar (you won't need it, hamburg - plenty of pubs!). Lots of rooms, so you and your mates should all fit.
It's near the reeperbahn which is the area with all the bars. There was no other stags there (which is good!), musn't be too popular with stags yet. When I went it was sunny weather and you could sit outside all the bars. We just looked at the beer prices and went to the cheaper bars! Is a lot cheaper than ireland. Bars close at various times, but there's always one that seems to be open, we drank till 5am most nights. Go down some of the side streeets, there's loads of hidden bars there.
I would just walk down the reeperbahn and go into any of the bars along there, there's beer gardens, strip bars and normal pubs. The DollHouse is a famous german strip bar, very expensive!
There's also a sort of big square just off the reeperbahn with prostitutes lined along it. They're nice to look at while having a drink, but they'll rip you off so stay away! Also, the bars in that area are run by Hells Angels, so don't step out of line!
But it's the best stag night destination imho, I'd love an excuse to go back, enjoy.
oh yeah, we just ate currywurst and chips! Not sure about places to eat. A pub is the best bet, if it looks reasonable, go for it.

great choice for a stag weekend.i was there last year for a mates do,had a ball.there was some kind of festival going on in the harbour and the place was packed all weekend.the reeperbahn is of course the place to go at night.thomas reeds irish bar is a good spot.bar upstairs nightclub downstairs.open till 5 am on weekends.
check out www.reeperbahn.de for a list of pubs.theres also a casino right in the middle of the strip with blackjack,roulette etc.do not let yourself get talked into going to any of the seedier "bars"by the so called reps outside them.you will find yourself being intimidated into buying expensive drinks for cheap looking women "40 quid for a glass of champange".ah well live and learn.
the dollhouse is the best strip club we found.classy and safe.tenner to get in but expect to pay double what you would pay on the reeperbahn for drinks.there is a revolving harley davidson bike on the stage where the girls dance.be warned that there are male strippers working there also so avert your eyes.
hamburg is a great city.you're gonna have great time

Best bars are around Hans Albers Platz and along Hamburger Berg (beside KFC). Best strip bar is Arizona on the main Reeperbahn, they have a mechanical bull with a free ride included with admission, nice girls and reasonably priced beer.
