Yesterday I Auditioned for Golden Balls

    Auditions were held in Edinburgh. They were closed auditions, I had applied last Oct (and some people had even applied as far back as Aug) and gotten the call two weeks beforehand asking me to meet in a selected hotel.

    We were told before going in that we had been selected from several 100 Scottish based applicants and had made the final 36. There would be only 1 day of Auditions in Edinburgh and there would only be 3 sessions, 12 each session.

    We are also told Series 5, filming in April and May, is hosting 80 episodes with 4 contestants per episode - 320 in total were needed

    The first round was an Introduction round, you stood up, and talked about yourself for 30 seconds - on a timer and in front of the camera - followed by a Debating round which just involved a lot of shouting.

    5 of the 12 were then picked to play a Mock game of Golden Balls while the others were dismissed. Sadly I wasnt chosen but was assured I still had a chance before I left due to the weird selection process

    In the next two weeks, I may or may not recieve a letter saying I have been shortlisted, and if I do my name will be placed on a board with several 100 people. After that, I may get a phone call between now and late April to arrange to come down to London for filming, and if that happens I will get a free flight to London from a UK destination of my choice and an overnight stay in a London hotel. On the other hand just because I got the letter still doesnt mean I will end up on the show so even people in the 2nd round could be eliminated from the show. Weird to be honest
