Just doing some research for a project im doing. Just wondering where people get their textbooks for college.

Do you buy them, get them from the library etc.
Do people even bother with reccommended texts

I rarely bought them, usually got them in the library - however near exam time it was damn near impossible!

Bought a few from people in the year above me who dont need them any more. Other than that from the library. Although I might have to do somethin about that before the exams!!

Usually the bookshop in the Students Centre (the SU 2nd hand bookshop never has any of the ones I want.)
I try and get them 2nd hand if possible, and was lucky up until recently when I had two I couldn't get 2nd hand and had to fork out over €112 for them. :(

I have a look for them in the library if they're on the recommended texts.

I only go buy the ones that are essential to the course.

1st Year English last year was a heartbreaking time in terms of money.

abebooks.com or amazon.co.uk on the rare occasion. Library is the main source though of course!

The book shop in the student centre is crazy price-wise!!!

Don't they know we're poor students or something?

You could try this link..go to the list of your subject area say English then in that excel file, there are list of books for you to view to see if the book you are looking for are in stock.....I got a book recently - a very good condition for less.
