changing ip address

    can any1 tell me how to change my ip address with out contacting my service provider and with out losing my conection???:confused:

    Proxy server? If you have a dynamic IP address reseting your router will generate a new ip address for you, this will cut you off momintarily though

    Explained here
    Basicly Static IP: Wont change IP even if router is rebooted, not very common with home broadband packages
    Dynamic IP: Your assigned a new IP each time you reset the router

    nope. didnt work.
    basically. my flatmate use's my computer from time to time and he got banned from a site that i use regurly. the ip addy got banned and his username. im trying to change the ip so i can log on with my username.

    any ideas??

    If they ban the entire IP range theres probably little you could do bar use a proxy and if the site was smart enough would detect this...
