Brake lights staying on

    Hi guys,

I have a problem with my 02 skoda octavia, the car is parked up, fully switched off and locked up but the brake lights stay on.
I've removed the fuse for the lights so the battery dosen't drain over night, but obviously I can't keep doing this.
I'm hoping someone can shed some light before I bring it to a mechanic. As I was driving home, the glow plug indicator on the dash started flashing. This happened before a few weeks ago and when I came back to the car that evening the battery was flat and had to be jump started. At the time I was sure I didn't leave the lights on, but it must have been the brake lights like now and I didn't notice.
Its a strange one, hopefuly someone has an idea.

    Cheers.

Faulty brake light switch or incorrect bulbs.
