Yamaha Sound Projectors

    Hi all,

I'm interested in the Yamaha YSP-40D sound projector (listed on Munster sounds €1599)
I wonder is this a viable solution, I know the proper 5.1 would be superior but I don't fancy lifting floor boards to hide cables!
I've seen it on several UK retailer sites for approx £900 sterling even with exchange rate and postage this is a far cry from €1600!! (of course I'd still need a Sub)

    Any thoughts on the above

    Many thanks,

    CS

From what I have read you have to have a suitably shaped room in order for them to work properly!

    Check out www.avforums.com

There are other ways to hide cable other than the floor boards. You can use coving, skirting, channel into plaster board or you could buy some cable trunking?

Just to let you know some on i know bought the 40D around Christmas for €1100 ish.
And why not keep it all Yamaha YST-FSW100 €170...

BTW the 40D really works in a small room. It prob wont push your Blu-Ray or PS3 but it sounds far better than the Phillips sound bar....

    Thanks for that guys,

Sol, where did your buy it for €1100?

Branners, thanks, I'm all to aware how to run cables as it's my job and that's what stops me (I hate cable trunk, it should be banned)

    Thanks for your input guys
