Brother is going for a job, he's got 2(I think) points. Job says full clean licence....can the employer check this? Or is it a case of if he crashes the car he is screwed?

I don't think they can check but if he is found out he could/would be sacked without a leg to stand on

Aye, although if I was the employer, two points wouldn't bother me.

Wouldn't like to get caught out on a lie. The company insurance or something might require clean license and they could come looking for the money off him if he's involved in an accident and they have to pay out.

It's also not a good idea to lie to your employer .. it's hard enough to keep a job these days!

He could get in to serious problems if found out although legally I haven't got a clue how his employers could find out. If they did find out he would have basically lied in his application and it wouldn't be difficult to get rid of him.

Their insurers would be able to assuming they request his driving licence details but again I'm not sure if they could deliberately report this to the employers...

My employers idea of 'clean licence' is 4 or less points and no endorsements though so 2 may not matter - entirely down to the employer.

"Clean license" usually means no endorsements, but I would mention the 2 points any way.

I don't think having two penalty points relates to a full clean driving licence. When employers use that statement in an ad it usually means a full licence with no endorsements or suspensions. He should mention to the employer that he has two penalty points. Can't see it being a problem.

I agree - it shouldn't be a big deal. They'll be a lot more interested in him having a full licence in the relevant category.
